General Meeting Schedule


Regular monthly meetings are at the Best Western Inn and Conference Center on Route 9, Poughkeepsie, NY on the second Thursday of each month. Q & A session will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed at 7:00 p.m. by business announcements. The feature presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Summaries of previous presentations are contained in our newsletter, the microCHIP. Remote Desktop

Have you ever wanted to access the files on your work computer from home or on the road? Or have you wanted to help a friend diagnose a problem with his or her computer without having to trek to that person's home or office?

The dynamic duo of David Caesar-Dare and Deb Meisels will demonstrate how to accomplish these tasks using a dual screen-dual computer setup, the Windows XP built-in Remote Desktop, and third-party computer programs, such as CrossLoop, LogMeIn, and GoToMyPC. A comparison of the features of these tools as well as security considerations will also be addressed.

Technology Workshop

The meeting is the third Monday of the month, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Business Development Center (Guardian Storage bldg.), Conference Room B.

Ulster Computing Workshop

The former Hudson Valley Personal Computing Club is now a SIG of the MHCUG. This group meets the third Thursday of each month in the computer lab (Room 103), Hardenburgh building, at the Ulster County Community College (map).
Meetings start at 7:00 p.m., with an informal "help" session between 6:00 and 6:50 p.m. for early birds. Programs will be decided by the members attending.

Digital Photography

This group meets the fourth Thursday of each month (from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Guardian Storage bldg., Conference Room B.

Upgrade/Repair

Regular Schedule: Fourth Monday, at 7:00 p.m. at the Guardian Storage bldg., Conference Room B.
